"A Burning Cloud" is David Drake's debut photobook. The images are autobiographical and retrospective, all of them shot in his hometown between the years 2001 and 2013.

"Some people never leave home. Some leave but visit on weekends and holidays. Others leave and rarely return, perhaps only for a wedding, birth, or funeral. For them home is no longer a place they can simply visit. Home becomes a place in the past -- a mirage of moments set in the midst of unfamiliar things."
